Nelson Faria discovered photography in his last year of high school back in 2005, but the road was long before he could call himself a fashion photographer: "- Yes, I remember changing from just pressing a button to starting really to study and compare what I was doing with the final result, planning the shots before pressing the button and experimenting new techniques," he says, but he wouldn't discover what impact photography would have on his life until much later: "- I actually got into the university studying product design and at the same time I got an internship at university's newspaper, but soon I realized that photojournalism wasn't what I wanted to do and decided to try other fields. That's when I discovered that I wanted to do fashion, beauty and music photography." Nelson just got back to Rio de Janeiro, after spending time in Paris where he shot his first Ben Trovato exclusive, Jardin des Tuileries. A story featuring the natural beauty that is Emmie from Slides Models Paris. Emmie was styled by Ana Carvalho, and had hair and make up done by Daria Slusarczyk. Nelson says this about the shoot: "- For this shoot in special I didn't had a strict concept, I was already living in Paris for a couple months and wanted to explore some details that caught my attention several times while walking around… I was looking for textures and patterns, playing with the available light and keeping the styling simple, so I chose to shoot at the Tuileries Garden, and play with what the model and the location where giving to me." He believes everything could be a source of inspiration: "- We are constantly receiving information from all around, our surroundings are a great source of inspiration. We collect memories from travels, places we have been to, feelings, moments of our lives, books, movies, music, people, nature, architecture… we can keep listing forever… All those memories are linked unconsciously and emerge as inspiration." To divide his work between USA, Europe and Brazil is among his biggest dreams, and to achieve that he's planning to keep shooting and developing his photography. "- There is so much to see and learn, lots of new experiences to pass by, but the most important I think is to keep having FUN with my work and be able to make money from what I love to do!"
