Andrea Jankovic discovered photography a few years ago while studying for a Masters of Architecture. "I was spending all of my money going to concerts, so I thought that if I could just convince people that I was a music photographer, I could scam my way into a lot of gigs for free," she explains. She went out, bought a camera and started shooting small local bands. From there on it's been a one way road: "-Yeah, things moved pretty quickly from there and I was shooting big concerts within a few months. I never really though of shooting fashion until my friend asked me to just take a few shots of some pieces she had designed (which seems silly in retrospect, as I'd been collecting fashion magazines since I was 10 and had been awarded a scholarship to study Fashion illustration when I was younger). I really, really enjoyed it so when I graduated from university at the end of 2010, I decided to give it a shot to see where it took me. So while I still have A LOT to learn, I feel really privileged to have come as far as I have in less than 18 months! Especially because I'm still working in architecture 4 days per week at the same time!"
Now the Brisbane based photographer and architect is ready with her first Ben Trovato exclusive story, entitled Sunshine State after where the story was shot, which was also one Andrea's main inspirations when shooting it.
